Why I built this.
Eating out shouldn't be difficult with a food allergy. It's a legal requirement for British restaurants to know what is in their food. But that doesn't mean you're going to get a good service once you ask the question.
I built Good Food Allergies to help me when choosing where to go with my son who has a peanut allergy. I'd normally spend significant time searching review sites for other people's experiences of a restaurant we may be interested in going to. Or I'd bookmark a social media post only to forget to go back to it weeks later. All the info is already out there. I just wanted to make it more accessible so I set about developing what will hopefully become the UK's largest database of allergy friendly venues.
